This is the second time I've used Crocker in Brecksville - they did such a good job the first time a few years ago, it was an easy call to make. This time, David and Isaac and the crew were out and the end result is really great. They even patched up some damaged boards and it looks even better than I expected.

Save yourself time looking around and head straight to Crocker Home Painting! Great experience from start to finish with Daryl giving us a quote and his crew doing an outstanding job. For power washing our 10 year old composite deck to painting all the railings and wooden lattice below, I thought the price quote was good. After how much time and meticulous care they spent doing the job (two days) I thought the price was great! I told the crew that watching them was like watching painters INSIDE my home, not outside. That's how much prep and care they took. Really a blast from the past, as no company I've come across today does work in that way. Usually crews look like they are in a hurry to do the next job on their list. My deck looks fantastic for it's age and prior condition. Do yourself a favor and call Crocker Home Painting. You will NOT be dissatisfied!

Not only does CHP do good work, they have some of the best Customer Service around. They consistently keep you updated and informed, follow through on whatever they say they are going to do, are polite and professional and, oh yeah, do really nice work. I got my deck restained in Medina. They cut no corners when doing the prep work. My deck looks like new. And I even got a restaurant certificate when the project was done. How often does the customer get that?! I really am impressed with CHP.

Crocker did a great job staining my deck! From the estimating process, choosing the color, prepping the deck, and completing the staining, they were fantastic to work with. Everyone was polite and professional, really helpful and friendly, and the deck looks GORGEOUS!! I'm so pleased with it and enjoying summertime on my beautiful deck!!

I had my front door completely refinished. Crocker Home Painting did an absolutely fantastic job! Daryl was so knowledgeable and professional. The work done was impeccable. The two men who refinished our front door were more like ‘artists’ than painters. They cleaned up daily and protected all areas from damage. Great job!

I hired Crocker Home Painting to paint my garage interior and did fantastic job. My garage looks cleaner and brighter than ever. Exceptional service and beautiful results. If you need any painting done, look no further!

Settling crack over the stairway and bathroom leak in the kitchen ceiling were repaired completely and ceiling texture matched perfectly. It is hard to tell where the patches are. Andrew was kind and his work was very clean- you could not tell that drywall repair was being done in the house.

Home Painting Cost Guide

No two homes are the same, and no two projects are either. Maybe it’s a living room that hasn’t been touched since you moved in, kitchen cabinets that deserve better than another coat over the old finish, an exterior weathered by another Cleveland winter, or a deck ready to look like itself again. Whatever you’re planning, we’ve been doing this work for Northeast Ohio families for over 40 years, and we’d be glad to do it for yours. Learn more about our interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet painting, and deck refinishing below. Real pricing for Real Homeowners.

Standard Bedroom

(Approx. 11×11)

$1,000 – $1,700*

Bedrooms are generally straightforward, though the cost varies based on the level of finish you desire. A standard refresh of just the walls typically costs between $1,000 and $1,200. If you wish to include the ceiling, doors, and baseboards/trim, the price will be closer to the $1,800 mark.

Family & Living Room

(Approx. 16×14)

$1,600 – $2,600*

Main living spaces usually feature more windows, crown molding, or complex edges that require precise “cutting in.” Painting the walls alone usually averages $1,600 to $1,800. A comprehensive update including the ceiling and all trim work will bring the project total to around $2,600.

Two-story foyer with a curved staircase and tall painted walls, representing two-story entryway painting prices

Two-Story Entryway

(sq ft varies)

$3,600 – $7,600*

Grand foyers with soaring ceilings and stairwells require specialized equipment, such as scaffolding or tall ladders, to access safely. The increased wall surface area and difficulty of access mean more time is needed for prep, painting, and clean-up can contribute to higher pricing up to $7,600.

Updated kitchen with warm white walls and washable finish, an example of full kitchen repaint pricing

Full Kitchen Repaint

(Approx. 11×11)

$2,600 – $5,500*

Kitchens are complex workspaces involving walls, ceilings, window frames, and trim—often interrupted by cabinetry and appliances. We use solid, washable finishes essential for cooking environments. Due to the intricacy and need for high-performance paint, a full kitchen refresh typically falls in this range.

Refinished cabinets in satin sage green with brushed gold hardware, illustrating cabinet refinishing pricing per door and drawer

Cabinet Refinishing

(per door/drawer)

$100 – $200*

Painting cabinets is a specialized skill that can transform a kitchen. The cost is calculated based on the number of pieces (doors and drawers), the current condition (stained vs. painted), and the required prep (sanding, grain filling, priming). Expect to pay within this range per piece for a solid, furniture-grade finish.

single story home with restored aluminum siding and white trim, an example of aluminum siding refinishing costs

Aluminum Siding Refinish

$4,000 – $8,000*

Aluminum siding is solid, but it fades over time. We restore its look by cleaning, recaulking necessary areas, and applying a professional spray finish for a factory-smooth look. Because aluminum provides a smooth canvas, the process is streamlined, keeping costs reasonable.

Cedar-sided home with warm brown stain and white trim, representing cedar siding painting price ranges

Cedar-Sided Homes

$8,000 – $14,000*

Cedar homes require specialized care to maintain their beauty. The process involves extensive washing, sealing, and significant caulking to prevent moisture damage. We use top-tier brands to apply stain or paint that offers long-term performance. Due to the heavy preparation required to protect the wood properly, these projects sit in a higher price bracket.

Historic wood-sided home with a multi-color heritage paint scheme and detailed trim, an example of heritage home painting pricing

Heritage Wood Exteriors

$11,000 – $17,000*

Historic homes with original wood siding often require restoration-level preparation. This includes scraping away peeling paint, extensive sanding, and caulking gaps. These homes often feature multi-color schemes and detailed trim work, which increases both labor and material costs.

tately historic estate home with intricate trim work and a freshly painted multi-color exterior, representing large estate painting budgets

Large Estate & Detailed Historic Homes

$18,000 – $25,000+*

For expansive or elaborate homes found throughout Cleveland and its suburbs, the cost reflects the sheer volume of detail work. These projects often involve intricate trim painting, complex color palettes, and significant surface area. The price covers the additional time, paint volume, and fine-detail labor required to achieve a smooth finish.

Small backyard wood deck with fresh honey-brown stain and simple railings, illustrating compact deck staining prices

Compact Backyard Deck

(Approx. 11×11)

$950 – $1,900*

For smaller, all-wood decks with standard railings, the project is usually budget-friendly. The final price depends on the current condition of the wood and the product you choose. This service includes a thorough cleaning and surface prep, followed by the application of a premium stain or sealer to protect the boards and railings from the elements.

Standard Backyard Deck

(Approx. 11×18)

Frequently Asked Questions

A: We look at the “Whole Picture.” While square footage matters, the biggest factors are surface condition and complexity. A home with peeling paint or intricate trim requires significantly more labor than a home with smooth, prepped walls. The quality of the paint product selected also impacts the final price.

A: We aim to make the process hassle-free. For interiors, we ask that you remove small breakables, wall hangings, and electronics. Our team will handle moving and covering larger furniture pieces to protect them. For exterior projects, please ensure pets are secured and landscaping is trimmed back slightly from the walls to allow our crew easy access.

A: DIY often appears cheaper upfront, but hidden costs add up quickly—high-quality brushes, rollers, ladders, drop cloths, and premium paint are expensive. Furthermore, DIY lacks the efficiency and performance of a professional application. Hiring a pro saves you time and ensures a finish that lasts longer, often making it the better value in the long run.

A: There is no “one size fits all” answer. A small interior job differs vastly from a full exterior restoration. However, most professional paint projects are an investment of several thousand dollars. The best way to get an accurate number is to schedule a consultation where we can assess your home’s specific needs.

A: The timeline varies based on the scope of the project and, for exteriors, the weather. A standard bedroom can often be done in a day or two, while a full exterior repaint may take a week or more. When we provide your written estimate, we will also include a projected timeframe so you can plan your schedule accordingly.
